Jeroen Bosh (Trendbeheer) describes in Metropolis M that the performance/installation Monochrome was one of the climaxes of 2009: "Performance wordt dans, wordt kunst, wordt dans, wordt performance. Grensverleggend goed. Onspectaculair traag - de hele 'show' duurde een uur of zes - maar door inzet van minimale dramaturgische middelen toch buitengemeen spannend. De verwachting van de kijker wordt gemanipuleerd: steeds dreigt er iets te gebeuren, maar gebeurt er net niets. Een totaalspektakel waar je als toeschouwer inloopt, door loopt, uitloopt en later weer in terugkeert." Metopolis M

Subject: spectatorship maastrichtBeste Bruno Listopad,
afgelopen vrijdag bezocht ik uw voorstelling 'Spectatorship' in AINSI Maastricht. Na afloop wist ik niet goed wat ik nu gezien had. Maar de voorstelling houdt me nu al dagen bezig en stelt een aantal wezenlijke vragen. Waar zijn we mee bezig? Inderdaad: wat mag je van een voorstelling verwachten? Wat doet een toeschouwer als hij betekenis wil geven aan iets wat om hem heen, voor hem gebeurt?
Bij deze het applaus dat ik direct na de voorstelling niet kon geven.

was funny to realize i can't distinguish objects among eachotherwhen they are all same black color, and how i didn't get bored one moment during the whole show;
Since the performers were getting out of the set at times, i also wondered "what am i doing here?what is this game we are playing? there is a whole world outside, and we are here watching them, and they are busy being busy"the whole situation seemed suddenly quite funny...
I thought they looked an moved like champs, and then i noticed the subliminal image of the monkey mask of Kay... of course champs!
loved the way you used the music, like a punctuation, starting and going nowhere, creating hope and longing in me, that falls fast to the ground again.... letting me with the impression that this is a lot of action going nowhere, just like us humans...

Dank Bruno listopad en alle anderen voor de intense voorstelling in ainsi, die begon voor mij met grappige irritatie in het cafegedeelte, jullie hebben mijn onderbewustzijn weten te bereiken,waardoor er een pracht magie ontstond, een wereld waar zinlose acties zinvol werden, waarin materialen en beweging ultieme sculpturen vormden , knap om een zogenaamde leegte, omdat er geen definities voor zijn, een uur te volharden en ervoor te zorgen dat dit bezield raakt , dit is kunst voor mij en deze ontstaat niet zomaar... bravo ben altijd blij als ik makers zie die lef en kwaliteit hebben dank john (gebruik email van mijn broer guido)- "(...)
